I took off some time to concentrate on getting my nail license, so I decided to take four months to dedicate to school and now I’m almost finished and I’m all over the place. How am I going to plan for the next phase in my life? One key word: Organization. I’m going to get everything I need set up and ready to go. This means going down the list of things that need to be done and checking them off one by one.

Laundry is always needed to have a successful work week. It eliminates the need to run around looking for clothes to put on. I need to print off some weekly schedules from Canva (Quick tip: write in pencil so you can erase the schedule and use it all over again… We don’t waste around here)

This might not be something a regular person would put on their to-do list but one of my most difficult ones is hair. Yes! I spend way too much time trying to maintain not only my hair but the hair I buy (aka wigs) So having my hair in a style I can do in minutes is important for me.

Make sure all transportation is loaded and ready. If you have a bus/train card load it, If you have a car put some gas in it, or if you are doing rideshare make sure the phone is charged, the bill is paid for and the correct payment is linked (I have a horror story about how I forgot to pay my phone bill and I was in the middle of nowhere).

I plan on making more posts like these to keep myself accountable and on track. I count everything in quarters like a game, so we are ending the second quarter and have to finish off strong! I’m also planning on a brand-new website/blog that will be self-hosted. I’m very excited about that! I plan to have an amazing recap of the year 2023.

Make sure to stay organized & keep your eyes on the prize. Make every day count and go for your dreams!

I have been slacking on my duties as a content creator lately. So I need to at least do an update on this blog and other platforms (We will get to those later) I've been keeping busy with many different things and I'm obsessed with finding different skills for working at home.

So while I sip green tea in my slippers I search online for opportunities to do from my home. I still do Upshift, Shifts By Snag A Job, Shipt & Qwick but I want to focus on the main source of income from home so I don't have to jump around as much.
The jobs I apply to are very serious and require photo identification W-9 forms and signatures. It's basically the same as applying for an in-person job position.
In my spare time I like to work on new press on nail designs to put in my shops. The trend right now is glitter and deep french tips. I've also been experimenting with loose glitter.
And of course, I have to vlog! It's been part of my life for over 5 years so I must make videos to make myself laugh! New video coming soon. Welp that was my update and I will be getting more consistent with not only Melle Indie blog and YouTube but also throwing Medium and a brand new blog that will be self-hosted into the mix. Got to stay busy and keep grinding! I'll catch up with all of you in the next post! BYE!

I've been asked repeatedly if my press-on nails are manufactured and the answer is no. The nail themselves may come from China but they are definitely designed by myself all by hand. From that point on (a couple years ago), I said I would make sure to also hand paint and hand write each and every Thank You card so when a customer gets their order off of whatever platform I sold it off of they would know it came from an indie operation.

Sharpie, Stamp Pad, Watercolors, Rubber "Thank You" Stamp, Index Cards

Everything I use to make my Thank You cards can be found at Dollar Tree, eBay, and Hobby Lobby. It's extremely easy and relaxing to do. Even though it's nerve-wracking when you have a bunch of orders and forget to make the Thank You cards I still feel grateful when making them.
Water Colored Index Cards

I can sit on the floor and make loads of these watercolor designs on the blank side of an index card. To me, it's therapeutic and calming. I'm usually listening to a podcast or watching a show while painting.
Stamped Watercolor Index Cards

After the index cards dry after a couple minutes you can now stamp them with your choice of color ink pad. I ran out of black so I'm using dark purple. I stamp "Thank You" in the middle with a flower on each side. leaving plenty of room for cutting shaped edges and writing your desired website at the bottom.
This is the finished Thank You watercolor card with my chosen website written at the bottom with a fine sharpie marker. I always cut the sides down with  special craft scissors and add in a pretty nail decal set (I have many repeat customers so I like to give everyone something every time they order to show appreciation) I really enjoy the art of things being hand painted and hand made. I will always be a fan of indie work I mean Hello my name is Melle INDIE lol. Make sure your supporting indie businesses and indie business owners. Thanks for stopping by! Now go paint something!

I wasn't really looking for an online library but since we have to do many things we are used to in a different way, I start searching for various book titles online. We live in a new day in time and going to the library was out of the question two years ago (Y'all remember 2020) But did you know you can still borrow books for free online?! I know there are probably plenty of websites like this one but Internet Archive is my absolute favorite! I’ve been reading books everyday since I found this website! To a nerdy type of person like myself this is better than Netflix! (Which I canceled by the way)  There are not just books but articles and videos. It really feels like the library because you have an hour at a time to read and once the hour is up you have to borrow again for another hour to continue reading. I’ve sat on the Internet Archive for hours reading and giggling. It’s a must if you're on a strict budget like myself but want some free entertainment in the form of a book.

Make sure when you find a book you like to add it as a favorite. This way all your books are in your favorite section and when you go back to borrow and continue to read it will take you back to the page you left off at. I’m super happy I found this one by accident. Internet Archive is a non profit online library and a true gem. I’ve been reading celebrity autobiographies lately and have been quite amused. One night I stayed up till 3am because I couldn’t stop reading the book I'm currently on right now.

I’ve been MIA lately on social media and my blog. I'm trying to really get my scheduling together because I’m all over the place. I had to post something about this though. The stereotype of people of color not reading is a bunch of B.S. I’ve always liked to read and so does my Mother. Your imagination will beat out a movie any day. Why do you think the movie version of a book is never as good as when you read it and pictured it yourself. I hope you guys take this resource and use it to your advantage. There is so much to gain on the internet if you use it correctly. Have a great one and read a book today… it's on the house.

Since the pandemic it's been a little harder to do the activities you're used to and to be around your family. It’s a chore just go outside you have to worry about germs, where you're putting your hands, making sure you are social distancing among many other things. As soon as things start to get serious and we started getting mask mandates, use hand sanitizer and wash our hands rigorously everyday. My immune system was not so good so I immediately started to develop a daily routine. In this daily routine I would consume the healthiest things I could get within my budget. Here are some of those things that I have to have every single day.

I'm not saying these are things that you need to have in your pantry but one or two of them a day may help with your overall immune system along with a little bit of exercise could help during these difficult times.

Organic Green Tea

I'm addicted to organic green tea in the morning. It's kind of like my must have when I first get up besides water. I used to get my organic green tea from a local Asian market but the brand I'm actually drinking till this day is Uncle Lee's Organic Green Tea. It can be found at Walmart and online on amazon.com it's one of the best tasting organic green teas I've ever had. Here are a couple reasons why it would be a good idea to consume Organic Green Tea everyday:

  1. The ingredients in Organic green tea will increase fat burning

  2. Organic green tea also has ingredients that can reduce bad breath

  3. Organic green tea is also a great source of antioxidants

  4. Organic green tea is extremely inexpensive

  5. Organic green tea may also help boost brain function

These are just a couple of the benefits of drinking organic green tea every single day. It's a perfect addition to help with your health and immune system in these days and times.

Vitamin D3

If you're vitamin D deficient you may want to think about taking a supplement on a daily basis if you don't get around sun very often. Unfortunately I am vitamin D deficient. I found out through a doctor's visit and I hope when I go back I won't be deficient anymore hopefully. This supplement is also very inexpensive.

Organic Sea Moss Capsules

I tried to use the dried sea moss, soak it, put it in the blender and make drinks with it but dried sea moss just had a very “ocean'' type of smell and taste to it. It made my sink, my refrigerator, and different jars smell like the ocean (I nicknamed it Sebastian) . It wasn't a really bad smell but it was very potent. I liked the way I felt when I did drink it so I decided to look for organic sea moss capsules and started to take those daily instead. Irish sea moss capsules have a lot of nutrients in them. Try to get them one hundred percent organic and wildcrafted if you can. Check Amazon and Ebay.

Probiotic supplement

I came down with the stomach flu about 2 years ago. I went to a local clinic and I'm so glad I got a really good doctor who observed I was having repeated stomach problems and recommended that I take the Garden of Life Primal Defense Ultra Probiotic Formula capsules. His recommendation was a good one because I haven't had any stomach problems since I've been taking these probiotic capsules. These probiotics are very popular and sell out quickly. I was not aware how important your gut health was and how you need to protect your stomach to keep from getting sick from different foods.

Multi-Vitamin Gummies

These are my very favorite gummy vitamins. These gummy vitamins taste like candy. The gummies have a really fruity natural taste to them. These gummies are the Vita Fusion MultiVites. I take two of these Vita Fusion gummies per day. There's no gluten, no high fructose corn syrup, no dairy, no artificial sweeteners or flavors. I depend on these gummy vitamins daily for immune system support the same way as the probiotics, sea moss capsules, and vitamin d3.

I have incorporated organic green tea and multiple capsules into my daily routine in the morning and have felt very healthy throughout this whole time. For the organic green tea I make two bags with hot filtered water and agave sweetener in a big cup (it's good hot and cold), I take one of each for the sea moss, vitamin D3 and probiotics. For the Vita Fusion gummies I take two of those a day.

I am not a doctor so I cannot recommend any of these products all but I can say in my experience taking them on a daily basis I can say they have helped me feel great through all of 2020, 2021 and now 2022. Do not forget to add in some exercise to lower your stress and don’t forget to laugh (it's the best medicine ever). I'm glad to share this information and I hope it helps somebody out there. In the meantime eat healthy, keep your head up and stay positive.

What is it like working for Shipt?  To be honest being a Shipt shopper a very good hustle especially for an introvert.  I'm not even big on driving but even I was able to do it.  Let's be honest I only did it for one day but in that one day of work I got to see how much potential this one side job could potentially bring in.

I was nervous to deliver groceries and it took about two months for me to actually use the app but when I did it was very easy I put myself on the schedule for around 11 a.m. (That was late and it was a Sunday so all the drivers are out) I was done with the first order by 12 p.m. I really could have stayed out longer but I was just testing the app to see if Shipt was one of those things I would do again.

I made sure I turned on my camera and vlogged my entire 1 hour shift basically just to show how easy it was.  I brought snacks from the dollar store and water so I didn't spend up the little bit of money I did make.  I actually had fun!

But let's also get to the parts that weren't so much fun.  It was really easy to see what was on the customer's list in the app but when I couldn't find an item it was kind of frustrating. When you can't find something you have to just tell them it wasn't found, see if they would like something else and keep going.

This particular customer did not want to be called or messaged so you basically just skip over the item and mark "not found".  The checkout was also pretty easy but it's all so intricate because you have to make sure that your groceries are separated correctly (not piled on top of each other ) also at the register you need to scan a non tax exempt barcode on your phone and then you have to pray you're Shipt credit card works.  My order actually went through very well.

Now we're off to the customer's house I was at a Target in the Northlake area her house was in the Norcross, Georgia area wasn't too far I was familiar with the area which made it more comfortable.  I did get lost and the Shipt GPS directed me to a apartment complex instead of a house.  I don't recommend using their GPS I recommend using your own GPS like Waze.  The house was actually down the street I put on my mask drop the groceries on the doorstep took a picture (that I forgot to send in) and left.

So at first I was open to another order and I went to my favorite Wal mart parking lot. But by now it's approaching about 12:00 noon and there wasn't any other orders coming in so of course being lazy I picked up a couple things for my mother and proceeded to go home. For that little venture I was paid about $10.98  which I guess wasn't bad but then I saw why people keep driving for Shipt.  I was cooking myself some dinner in a couple hours later  I get a tip for $5.00 now that made my trip worth it so I see why people will continue to come out and drive for Shipt ,Uber, Instacart it's really a tip game because now that $10.98 turn into $15.98  I can now see how staying out delivering groceries for a half a day or a whole day can end up being a nice piece of change.

I took a little break from the Shipt App. I expect to go back out soon but with gas soaring in price it's not an ideal thing for me to do right now especially when there's other ways to make side hustle money.  Overall I give it about four and a half stars. Shipt was something fun to do and you make money while doing it so why not.  Here's a video I've vlogged the day I did shipped for the first day:

Hope you enjoyed this blog and the video make sure to come back now ya hear!

I'm a total newbie beginner when it comes to the crypto space and crypto investing. I stumbled on it about October 2021 and it was an accident. I had about $17.00 in my Robinhood account and it wasn't much to buy stocks with so I played around and put some money on Dogecoin it was about .23 at the time and it went up to about .26 or .27 in a couple hours and my little bit of investment went up. After I saw the money go up I had to learn about this crypto thing I had been scared about investing in.

                                                    ROBINHOOD :Where it all started

I have had my Robinhood account for about a year so I was used to looking at stocks and was researching a lot about dividend investing. But when I clicked the crypto button and started to look at the charts I wanted to know more about crypto investing. I wasn't serious about the Dogecoin investment it was just a test to see how it worked. I was now interested in many coins that weren't on Robinhood like Shiba Inu. I went into the rabbit hole about Shiba Inu Coin something about this meme coin token was different. There were many projects coming up like games and their blockchain called the Shibarium it had utility to back it. This Shiba Inu Coin in my eyes wasn't a joke or meme to me. This Shiba Inu coin was the beginning of something that was going to be huge and I wanted in on it. But, how do I get the Shiba Inu Coin? Here is where I go to my next exchange in pursuit of the Shiba Inu Coin.

COINBASE: One of the popular homes of Shiba Inu Coin

I was so excited to start this account. This is were I was going to hold the bulk of my Shiba Inu Coin. I couldn't wait to sign up and get my first few Shiba Inu Tokens. I bought in when it was very popular at the .000072 range I was one of the new people to crypto and had no idea how it goes up and down 24/7 I got scared and said "If I don't get it now the price is going to shoot up and I will miss my chance" Look I told you guys I'm new to this. Now I know better. Here is what I did: I bought in at the lowest prices I could like .000034 this way it brings my average cost down. So if you bought high no worries overtime buying low will average your investment out. I also put a couple dollars on Crypto.com coin, Algorand (which stakes at 4% on Coinbase) I get over excited and now want to get another exchange account.

WEBULL: I have no idea why I have this exchange account

I'm still puzzled why I have a WeBull account? I think I wanted to trade stocks at one time. I'm glad I have it because I can actually invest and trade stocks and crypto on Webull. It has a great interface and I like this exchange I just need a plan for it. Now that I'm a couple months in I'm now thinking about other smaller coins I can invest in and let grow. So after thousands of YouTube videos I keep hearing people mention Dogelon Mars(ELON) and I see this cute dog who I guess is supposed to be Elon Musk. I'm sorry I liked the concept and wanted in on that also because it looks like a promising project and its very low right now.

KUCOIN: The popular home of Dogelon (ELON)
I tried the Trust wallets and buying over the blockchain and let me tell you IT'S EXPENSIVE! There is all these gas fees and mining fees. I wanted to spend like $10.00 and it cost $80 to complete the transaction. That was a complete NO! I saw that Dogelon Mars was on Kucoin and it was pretty easy to set up so I got my Dogelon Mars(ELON) coins from Kucoin. To me this is a good trading and buying platform for a more experienced crypto investor. I wouldn't start with Kucoin to get into crypto it would have been too confusing to me as a beginner who never bought or traded crypto.

I'm very excited to 2022! I want to let my investments grown and add to them at this time Shiba Inu price is at 0.00003402 (SHIB) and Dogelon Mars price is at 0.00000165 (ELON)
In my opinion I would start with Coinbase or WeBull they were more beginner friendly in my opinion. You will have to provide your government identification, take a photo, and verify email plus your phone number. This verification is with basically a process you have to do with all the exchanges.

It's 2022 and I your thinking about investing in crypto here are some referal links that can get you free stocks and crypto to start:

HAPPY INVESTING! I hope many millionaires are created in 2022 with me (MELLE INDIE) being one of them! Today is January 1, 2022 and I will make sure to come back with another update in a couple months. Leave a comment and let me know where you are in you crypto journey.✨

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It is about to be 2022 and I wanted to just make a post about how great 2021 went. It had some high and low points but over all I learned so much. I enjoyed myself this year and I really believe that that is because I learned so much about hustling, finances and myself.

The year of 2021 was definitely about discovery. I was a part of so many things I lose count. I learned how to buy, sell and trade crypto, joined Shipt, got on the Shifts by Snag a job app, got to do jobs for Intellifluence, completed jobs for Dscout app, sold well on Depop - Mercari -Ebay platforms I mean the list just goes on and on. I was very impressed with the meals I made and how I was able to control myself with social media and make it more like work than a hang out.
As I get older I am so much happier with just small things in life and a sentence I said to myself a lot this year was "I have enough" or "I have more than enough" I was very thankful out loud not just in my head. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with my family. I was just very grateful for everything I have despite everything that is going on in the world. I'm really excited for this new year and I think it's going to be power packed with many changes and challenges.
I'm here for ALL of it! The challenges made me really look into myself to see if I really had what it took to stand on my own and I do! I could have buckled but that's not my personality. I came from the mud and I'm used to things getting gritty and I'm proud of myself for being able to handle it. I'm looking forward to learning even more new things, making more money and just growing into the woman I want to see. I'm not everybody's cup of tea but I'm also not for everybody. I'm for the streets (That's a joke....)  I'm grateful to God for another year and I can't wait to see what he has in store for me in 2022! I know it's going to be good🤎

Have a Happy Blessed New Year! Don't forget to come see me in 2022! LOVE YALL💙

Check out the 2021 New Years Eve wrap up on YouTube:

I wasn't to sure about getting this color of wig. It was a cross between a ash purplish pink. I was calling it and "ashy lilac" but if you look this color up it actually #612 the wig also has a gray type of look to it. At $9.99 on sale there was nothing to lose.

I was extremely impressed with the unit. The wig cap was in tact and the hair was soft and there was no tangling.
It was time to get out of my comfort zone and try this new style of wig length and color. To my surprise it looked great!
The color is way more true in these photos than the ones at the top. There is more of a purple hue to the wig. I liked the length and the loose curls. The bang is also very stylish and matched with the wig perfectly.
Pulling the wig unit up into a half ponytail was also a wonderful surprise because usually you cannot pull off this style without the tracks of the hair showing. This wig was weft very nicely and because it was made well I could pull this half up half down style off.
This amazon short bob wig in a #612 was an absolute steal! I'm sure the wig cost more now but when you see these sales I would jump on them. I'm very happy with my purchase and wouldn't mind this same wig style in a more pink hue. I like the lilac type of look on me. The color is different in a way that it stands out but it's not loud so I could wear this look out of the house with no problem.

Here is the actual video review of this same Amazon wig on YouTube:
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out the content! Here is another wig review and try on for a Long Wet and Wavy Amazon Wig Unit:

                                                             AMAZON WIG REVIEW

I've had this little Imagic 12 flash color make up case/palette for years now. I know it has to be about 3-4 years I've been using this same make up case and it has been great for creating: eyebrows, eyeliner, lipstick colors, lipliner, and you can even combine colors to do your actual foundation.

I didn't do any foundation for my make up on this particular day. I wanted to challenge myself to use ONLY the Imagic 12 flash color case and maybe some lip-gloss and a little powder.
As you can see I am going to start with a bare face and see what type of look I can come up with with no other make-up other than my Imagic 12 flash color case. This should be interesting.
Half way there! So far we have brown eyebrows, pink eyeshadow, golden eyeliner, peach lips with a brown outline and gold in the middle (very pretty combination)
Here is a complete look! All that was added was some powder to keep my eyebrows from wiping off, lip-gloss to go over my combined lipstick colors and of course a curly wig. I was just trying to do a very basic everyday make up look. It's really nice to be able to do your makeup like this everyday with one product.
I'm a huge fan of the iMagic 12 flash color case palette. It's so convenient for a person on the go with not a lot of time for make up or a big budget for make up. There are so many looks and combinations to come up with in one small palette. The looks are endless.

Here is a video from over (3) years ago with me doing another more detailed make-up look with the iMagic 12 Flash Color Case and setting it with cornstarch. It was more of a joke but it actually came out pretty nice.

Thank you so much for watching and reading. I hope you enjoyed and check out this blog about

I'm all about some DIY projects. So when I was thinking about changing my video backdrop/ background in my recording room for YouTube I thought about the popular organic balloon garlands I keep seeing online and on Instagram. I used to work at a party store for years blowing up balloons on a daily so I thought this would be a fun DIY balloon project. I got a balloon pump from Ebay, table cloth from The Dollar Tree and the balloons are both from The Dollar Tree and Ebay.

I had a ball blowing them up with the hand pump! There was no design I just blew up all the colors and bunched them together. There was a pack of (6) Confetti balloons from The Dollar Tree that were great accents in the bunches. The balloons were one big garland and then I messed up and put some strong double sided tape on them and it made the middle pop. Which ended up being cool because I ended up with two clusters. One for each side of me.
I was very impressed with the outcome! The two clusters on both sides of me while I sit in the middle for videos or pictures. The table cloth was black which really made the colors pop out. This can also be done for parties as well.
Very cool DIY balloon backdrop/background that cost me very little but gave off a great look on camera and for photos. I have a couple more ideas with balloons for future backdrops. If you want to see the full video on Youtube of how I put this together with all my shenanigans included click below:
Thank you so much for reading and stopping by! Hope you got some balloon ideas flowing for your next at-home project. Have a great one!

I did it again! I was able to scoop four colors of nail polish from The Dollar Tree all Sinful Colors brand! I'm super excited because its very rare to see Sinful Colors nail polish in The Dollar Tree. Sinful colors nail polish is usually in a store like Sally's or a higher priced beauty store. I was also impressed with the shades I picked up. Usualy the colors all look alike or they are dull and unwanted but these colors are POPULAR!.

First color is a deep lush red called "Redrum" It's a sexier type of deep red. Would look great on nails or toes. This is more of a classic color. If your a red lover this is a beautiful shade of red for a set of nails.
Next color is called "Charmed" it's a fine glitter sparkle type of polish. This charmed color can be worn by it'sself but I feel like it would have popped so much more over a cool tone colored nail polish. But is very suttle by itself. Very fine and glittery without the flash. Like a elegant champagne glitter.
The third color named "Interglamactic" it's a violet purple but brighter type of shade. Not quite purple but not pink either so I would say it was more of a pretty violet shade. Great to step out of your comfort zone with. Not to bright but a stand out nail polish color.
Last but not least is "Spirirted" a lilac purple shade that is super cute. I have this shade on my pedicure right now and it looks great! I'm not a purple person but I might start doing a purple manicure and pedicure once in a while. It's a nice break from red or blue.
I'm very pleased to put all of these Sinful Colors nail polishes in to my collection. I would love to see a lot of these shades as press on nails. More manicures and pedicures with these nail polishes before the summer season is over.
You guys already know the drill! Check your local Dollar Tree or just a dollar store and even discount places like big lots and you can possibly run up on deals like these.
So grateful to have found these for a total of $4.00! (Plus tax of course) Thank you for checking out my Sinful colors nail polish swatch blog! As soon as I find more shades I will swatch them. Have a great one!
