I've been asked repeatedly if my press-on nails are manufactured and the answer is no. The nail themselves may come from China but they are definitely designed by myself all by hand. From that point on (a couple years ago), I said I would make sure to also hand paint and hand write each and every Thank You card so when a customer gets their order off of whatever platform I sold it off of they would know it came from an indie operation.

Sharpie, Stamp Pad, Watercolors, Rubber "Thank You" Stamp, Index Cards

Everything I use to make my Thank You cards can be found at Dollar Tree, eBay, and Hobby Lobby. It's extremely easy and relaxing to do. Even though it's nerve-wracking when you have a bunch of orders and forget to make the Thank You cards I still feel grateful when making them.
Water Colored Index Cards

I can sit on the floor and make loads of these watercolor designs on the blank side of an index card. To me, it's therapeutic and calming. I'm usually listening to a podcast or watching a show while painting.
Stamped Watercolor Index Cards

After the index cards dry after a couple minutes you can now stamp them with your choice of color ink pad. I ran out of black so I'm using dark purple. I stamp "Thank You" in the middle with a flower on each side. leaving plenty of room for cutting shaped edges and writing your desired website at the bottom.
This is the finished Thank You watercolor card with my chosen website written at the bottom with a fine sharpie marker. I always cut the sides down with  special craft scissors and add in a pretty nail decal set (I have many repeat customers so I like to give everyone something every time they order to show appreciation) I really enjoy the art of things being hand painted and hand made. I will always be a fan of indie work I mean Hello my name is Melle INDIE lol. Make sure your supporting indie businesses and indie business owners. Thanks for stopping by! Now go paint something!

I'm all about some DIY projects. So when I was thinking about changing my video backdrop/ background in my recording room for YouTube I thought about the popular organic balloon garlands I keep seeing online and on Instagram. I used to work at a party store for years blowing up balloons on a daily so I thought this would be a fun DIY balloon project. I got a balloon pump from Ebay, table cloth from The Dollar Tree and the balloons are both from The Dollar Tree and Ebay.

I had a ball blowing them up with the hand pump! There was no design I just blew up all the colors and bunched them together. There was a pack of (6) Confetti balloons from The Dollar Tree that were great accents in the bunches. The balloons were one big garland and then I messed up and put some strong double sided tape on them and it made the middle pop. Which ended up being cool because I ended up with two clusters. One for each side of me.
I was very impressed with the outcome! The two clusters on both sides of me while I sit in the middle for videos or pictures. The table cloth was black which really made the colors pop out. This can also be done for parties as well.
Very cool DIY balloon backdrop/background that cost me very little but gave off a great look on camera and for photos. I have a couple more ideas with balloons for future backdrops. If you want to see the full video on Youtube of how I put this together with all my shenanigans included click below:
Thank you so much for reading and stopping by! Hope you got some balloon ideas flowing for your next at-home project. Have a great one!

This is my D.I.Y recipe for shaving lotion. I've used this recipe for years and years and I haven't had any cuts since I start making it. I used to buy shaving cream and I would be cut a couple times by the time I got done shaving my legs. With this DIY shaving lotion I never had that problem.

All these products are from of course... The Dollar Tree! You can use any brand of conditioner, baby shampoo, lotion and baby oil you would like. Here is the measurements for this quick DIY shaving lotion:

(1) Cup Conditioner
(1) Cup Baby Shampoo
(5) Tablespoons Of Lotion
(5) Tablespoons Of Baby Oil

I also got my product mixing measuring cups and spoons from The Dollar Tree. I keep these things in the bathroom so they never mix with my measuring cups and spoons from the kitchen. The container is just a used old plastic jar from a hair product. I love to recycle!

Put everything in a jar (preferably recycled :) take any object to stir (I'm using a craft stick) and mix all the ingredients up until smooth. Let the mixture sit for about (1) hour.

It's an hour later and your mixture is ready to use! It will get thicker as time goes on so stir it up before using.

This is one of my favorite DIY projects for self care. You can shave your legs and under arms in minutes and feel smooth afterwards. I love using it right before I get in the shower. This DIY shaving lotion last so long! I did the video to make a batch in the video below in 2018 I didn't have to make it again until 2021! Talk about savings! Here is the video:

Thank you so much for stopping by! Stay Happy and Frugal!💙💛💚

I feel like I've done this post on different blogs a million times. I always rewrite it because it's one of the cheapest coolest at home spa like treatments you will ever give yourself. I'm choosing to do the DIY Lotion Paraffin Treatment on my feet this time because my feet are extremely crusty right now. You can also do this DIY treatment on your hands the same way. Here is all you need to do this DIY lotion paraffin treatment and you might already have all of this in your home right now!

That's it! (2) Plastic bags (I have plenty from my grocery shopping) Any type of lotion (This one was from the dollar tree but I say go all out and splurge on some nice lotion your really like or even make some!) Lastly a pair of big comfy socks to warm your feet up.
So we are going to wash our feet off clean and put LOADS of our chosen lotion on the feet. Be very generous this is the "Paraffin"
Slide each foot into a plastic bag and tie the bag or tuck it in
Final step we are going to put on our comfy socks over the plastic bags to create that warm lotion that will now act like "paraffin" leave your feet like this for at least (20) mins the longer the better. If you can stand an hour go for it. Also you don't have to sit down you can walk around. It will be squishy but you'll create even more warmth by moving around. Watch a show or just kick back and relax until your ready to reveal those toes.
Nice soft feet in about (20) minutes! I love this DIY Lotion paraffin treatment! Not just cause it cost pennies but my feet really do feel good afterwards and I know if they get ashy again I know what to do. Make a at home spa day with DIY feet and hand treatments. Who said being pampered had to be expensive. This is self care on a budget budget.

Thank you for stopping through! Make sure to try this DIY and share it!

This was more of an experiment. I saw a quick video with a lady grating a bar of  Zote melting it with water, adding essential oils and storing it to use on dishes, clothes, for cleaning and even a bleach alternative. I have plenty of Zote bars in my pantry and I love DIY so I gave it a try. I must say that this is one of the BEST DIY projects I've ever done and I will use it for LIFE!

This one bar of white Zote grated with a grater from the dollar tree, mixed with about a gallon of water, scented with eucalyptus & lavender essential oil and mixed with a hand blender made all of this soap!
I had to look for more containers! I had so much soap I couldn't believe how much liquid one bar of Zote had made! It was very soapy and creamy. I'm not going to lie after it sits it has the consistency of snot (I know I'm gross right?) But it's good clean snot. This was the perfect recipe in times like this were you have people literally fighting over soap, hand wash and toilet paper. I even gave one bottle to my Mom there was so much! The only word that came to my mind was "ABUNDANCE" I wrote it on my dry erase board.
This was a clear example of abundance and how we have everything we need right in front of us if we look for it. I was very humbled that day. I actually made this batch on May 8th 2021 (5/8/2021) It's close to a week of having this stockpile of soap and I haven't even put a dent in it! I've hand washed some clothes, washed all my dishes, put some in a foaming hand soap dispenser and I still have plenty. It's truly a blessing to learn these type of things at this day and time. No fighting over soap for me.

Another tip if you want it to come out more like a liquid. Put a little squirt or two of your favorite dishwashing liquid in each bottle. I used some lavender scented Dawn and it gave it more bubbles, more scent and it's a little less thick. I will be using this Zote DIY soap FOREVER! On my next batch I might just make a tutorial post because it's too easy not to try! I wish abundance for anybody reading and make sure to try this at home!

NOTE* A Bar of Zote is about $1.00 in some places $1.09 but the popularity of Zote and the simplicity of the ingredients is getting noticed and I expect the price to be going up. It's sold out a lot at Wal Mart so if you see it at the $1.00 or $1.09 price grab a couple while you can at that price.

With everything going on in the world I have really started to take eating, drinking and entertaining to a whole new level! Coming up with new mocktails, foods and desserts it becoming my new favorite hobby. I'm not going to lie I was going for the " Unicorn" type drink but it looked more toned down so I renamed it "Magic Mocktail" lolol here is what I bought to make it.

All you need it any pink drink any blue drink and some club soda. All these drinks I found at the grocery store for $1.00.
I made ice with the pink and blue drinks. (You can also make popsicles with the juice it's super sweet and kids would like it)
Put the colored ice cubes in a tall glass alternating the colors.
Pour the club soda over top and serve with a cute straw! I thought it would be too sweet but the club soda balanced out the sugar in the ice cubes. I love the look of it! I do wish the pink would have been more of a deep pink so when they mix it turns purple but overall for how easy it was I'm impressed.
Now when your favorite show comes on or you have company you can make a signature mocktail for a couple cents each. Stay happy stay frugal thanks for reading make sure to try it!

This waffle recipe is one of my favorites! The original recipe I found on Sweet Potatoe Soul's YouTube channel and adapted it to my liking. There are no eggs or dairy in these waffles and everything needed is shown below.

Here are the ingredients for this recipe:

1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 tablespoon ground flax + (2) tablespoon of water (flax egg)
1 1/2 cups of almond milk (I used coconut milk)
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 stick of melted plant butter

(Optional: a few pinches of allspice for taste)
Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl with a fork. Combine until batter is smooth.

Lightly grease your waffle maker with some butter and fill your waffle maker with the homemade batter. This is a $20 waffle maker I got from Ebay. It takes about 6-8 minutes to make (2) waffles in this waffle maker.
There you have it! Some beautiful homemade vegan waffles you can enjoy with plant butter and syrup without leaving the house! Plus there is plenty more batter for 2-3 more servings. This is what I call a happy meal :) Hope you try them at home!
